Dirk’s background as a professional is rich and comprehensive. He’s been a journalist for the world’s largest and most respected news organization, the Associated Press, as well as a leading local newspaper, the Tampa Tribune. What people may not know is that Dirk is an entrepreneur who founded and ran an exciting ecommerce business, and he also has served as an effective trainer who for a time traveled the country sharing knowledge and insight.
Dirk Lammers is being recognized by ASAE (the American Society of Association Executives) for earning the Certified Association Executive (CAE®) designation. The CAE is the highest professional credential in the association industry.
To be designated as a Certified Association Executive, an applicant must have experience in nonprofit organization management, complete a minimum of 100 hours of specialized professional development, pass a stringent examination in association management and pledge to uphold a code of ethics. The exam covers the critical areas of governance, executive leadership, organizational strategy, financial management and operations, business development, member engagement and advocacy.
To maintain the certification, individuals must undertake ongoing professional development and activities in association and nonprofit management. More than 4,700 association professionals currently hold the CAE credential. The CAE Program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). New CAE credential holders were recognized at the Awards Luncheon and Closing Keynote at ASAE’s Annual Meeting & Exposition in Nashville, Tennessee held on Tuesday, August 23.
