Angela is the remarkable executive director of the South Dakota Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. As president of our chapter, I can confirm that Angela is well regarded by local, state and national organizations, including the business community, professional organizations, political circles, and not to mention individually among our membership. Angela is a natural leader; empathetic, charismatic, hard-working, intelligent, and positive. During her time as our executive director, our organization has become more financially stable, stronger in membership number, and more influential throughout our communities. She has played a direct role in this success.
One of our recent successes that Angela oversees, is our statewide advocacy efforts. She has connected our chapter members and leadership with state legislators, and helped shepherd various lobbying efforts that support the mission of the AIA. She has personally collaborated and facilitated testimony for myself and others on behalf of our organization to the state Legislature regarding delivery methods in design and construction for the safety of all South Dakotans. This is only one example of various ongoing advocacy efforts.
